Cardiac Stress Test

A Cardiac Stress Test is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure used to evaluate how well the heart functions during physical activity or increased workload. The test helps assess the heart’s response to stress, detect possible signs of reduced blood flow to the heart muscle (ischemia), evaluate symptoms such as chest pain or shortness of breath, and support the diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease. Depending on the patient’s condition, the test may be performed using exercise on a treadmill or stationary bicycle, or with medication-induced stress for patients who are unable to exercise.
