Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) Surgery

Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is a minimally invasive advanced surgical procedure used for the removal of large or complex kidney stones. During this procedure, a small access tract is created through a tiny incision in the patient’s back, allowing the surgeon to enter the kidney and remove stones directly using specialized endoscopic instruments. PCNL is considered the preferred treatment option for many large renal stones, particularly stones larger than 2
cm, staghorn stones, or cases where other stone treatment methods may not provide effective clearance.

At our hospital, PCNL is performed using modern endourological techniques with careful preoperative evaluation and advanced imaging guidance to maximize stone clearance while minimizing complications. Compared with traditional open surgery, PCNL offers smaller incisions, reduced postoperative discomfort, shorter recovery time, and high success rates for suitable patients.
